by KC SmartPort Intern | Aug 05, 2019

People to People International (PTPI) has invited KC SmartPort to lead another business delegation to Cuba from October 7 to 14, 2019. KC SmartPort and the Greater KC Foreign Trade Zone led a business mission to Cuba in 2016, which was full of meetings with chambers of commerce, Cuban ministries, a tour of the new container port in Mariel and also a few cultural tours and experiences.  All of the attendees on the 2016 mission came back with positive feedback of the overall trip and hopeful for opportunities to do business in Cuba. Chris Gutierrez, KC SmartPort President, had the opportunity to travel to Cuba again in 2017 and met with several of the government and chamber officials, committing to Kansas City’s focus on Cuba.

The 2019 mission trip will consist of business oriented meetings with Cuban chambers and ministries, as well as cultural visits and meetings. People to People International provides legal travel to Cuba in full compliance with all U.S. government regulations. Visit the PTPI website for registration details and contact Chris Gutierrez with any questions.
