The Johnson County Airport Commission oversees New Century AirCenter, one of the area’s premier intermodal facilities. The New Century AirCenter, located in Olathe, Kansas, is a 2,500-acre intermodal facility featuring BNSF rail lines, a large airport facility, and easy access to I-35. The site was formerly a Naval air station and was acquired by the Johnson County Airport Commission in 1973.
The Airport Commission is a one-stop shop for development projects at New Century AirCenter. Over 400 acres of land are under long-term land leases with over 1,000 acres available from 1-160 acres to fit a client's needs. The Airport Commission has statutory authority to issue Industrial Revenue Bonds and develop incentive packages. Dependable utilities, nationally ranked educational institutions, an available workforce and affordable housing provide a sound cornerstone for companies looking at Johnson County.
