Hopkins Manufacturing to open distribution center in Edgerton

Hopkins Manufacturing Corporation has announced plans to open a new distribution center in Edgerton, Kansas to support continued growth.

A release from the company states that the new facility will open up in June and is located in the Edgerton Inland Port VIII at the Logistics Park, adjacent to the BNSF Intermodal Facility. First shipments are expected to follow shortly after the facility opens.

Hiring is already underway and the facility is expected to employ over 100 team members. 

The Kansas City Area Development Council and KC SmartPort were proud to partner with the following organizations in attracting Hopkins Manufacturing Corporation to the KC region: ElevateEdgerton!, City of Edgerton, Kansas Department of Commerce, State of Kansas, KCP&L, NorthPoint Development, Kansas Workforce Partnership, JCCC, and Cresa. 

Hopkins was founded in 1953 in Emporia, Kansas and has grown into one of the largest automotive and RV aftermarket suppliers through acquisition and organic growth. Products currently being distributed from several Hopkins facilities including a portion from Emporia will be distributed from Edgerton.
