N.W. Electric Power Cooperative, Inc. (N.W.) operates as a generation and transmission electric cooperative. It maintains and manages substations and transmission lines delivering wholesale electric power to various distribution cooperatives, which provide electricity directly to members in the Northwest Missouri and Southwest Iowa region. The company was incorporated in 1949 and is based in Cameron, Missouri.

The mission of N.W. is to provide dependable, high-quality, wholesale power to meet all present and future requirements of its members and to furnish strong leadership for marketing, community, and economic development and other services; all consistent with the highest ideals of cooperative enterprise and sound business practices.

As an electric cooperative, N.W. is responsible for maintaining 130 substations and approximately 1700 miles of transmission line which delivers the power to the seven distribution cooperatives who provide electricity directly to members.  Currently, N.W.’s seven distribution cooperatives serve more than 74,000 members in a 34-county region of Northwest Missouri and Southwest Iowa.
